International Women's Day Week Exclusive: Dr. AlAnoud AlSharekh's Journey حصريا لأسبوع يوم المرأة العالمي: مسيرة د. العنود الشارخ

الدكتورة العنود الشارخ باحثة استشارية في مجال التجديد الثقافي والسياسي في الخليج العربي، وقد عملت كمحللة سياسية وزميلة زائرة في عدة جهات حكومية وعالمية منها معهد لندن للشرق الأوسط (LMEI)، المعهد الدولي للدراسات الإستراتيجية (IISS)، بالإضافة إلى عملها في مجال التعليم في جامعات محلية وعالمية كجامعة ابسلى في السويد وقد كانت "فلبرايت سكولر" في مجال المرأة والاسلام في كلية وتييرفي كاليفورنيا. حصلت على دكتوراه في دراسات الشرق الأدنى والأوسط ودرجة الماجستير من كلية الدراسات الشرقية والأفريقية (SOAS) ودرجة البكالوريوس مع مرتبة الشرف في الأدب الإنجليزي وعلم الكتابات القديمة من كلية كنجز(Kings) من جامعة لندن وقد تم نشر العديد من المقالات والأبحاث لها في الدوريات العالمية، بالإضافة إلى مساهمتها المنتظمة في المجلات والصحف. ولها مطبوعات كثيرة منها كتاب الغضب الناعم باللغة العربية، واربعة كتب باللغة الإنجليزية تناقش اهمية الثقافة السياسية والمحليات واستمرارية منظومة العائلة بالخليج، وقد حازت اعمالها على جائزات محلية وعالمية

Dr Al-Sharekh is a Research Associate at the London Middle East Institute at SOAS, and her focus is primarily on sociopolitical, cultural and security issues. She has held Senior Fellow and consultative positions as a gender politics consultant for UNIFEM, Freedom House, IISS, KNSB and the UNDP on academic and social outreach projects in Kuwait and the GCC. Her teaching posts include Kuwait University, Gulf University of Science and Technology, the Arab Open University, visiting lecturer at Uppsala University, Sweden, and Fulbright Scholar on Women and Islam at Whittier College, USA. She has published several books and articles on gender and kinship policies in the GCC, including The Gulf Family, and Popular and Political Cultures of the Arabian Gulf States, examining the persistent importance of family and tribe in modern Gulf politics and society. Her work won the Arab Prize for best publication in a foreign journal for 2013-2014, and the Voices of Success Kuwait Award in 2012.

Exclusive: Sundus Hussein's Journey حصريا: مسيرة سندس حسين

تخرجت سندس حسين من جامعة بوسطون، وحصلت على بكالوريوس الهندسة - قسم تكنولوجيا المعلومات- لتصبح فيما بعد اختصاصية ومستشارة تقنية المعلومات طوال مسيرة مهنية مدتها 20 عامًا، وهي في مكنونها ناشطة تدافع عن العدالة والمساواة، وبفضل كونها المتحدثة الرسمية عن حملة "الكويت حرة" في لندن. أدركت أن أعمال التدمير والقتل البشعة التي يمارسها النظام العراقي في الكويت توجب عليها أن تعمل من أجل تخليص المصابين في هذه الأزمات. انخرطت سندس بالعمل مع الكثير من المنظمات مثل جمعية حقوق الإنسان بالكويت وجمعية خريجي الكويت وأسست عام 2003 حركة شعبية اسمها "ارتقاء المرأة" لمنح النساء الكويتيات حقوق سياسية برلمانية، وتعمل سندس حاليا على ملف النساء اللاتي يتعرضن للإيذاء وتعمل على تقديم الدعم المنزلي من خلال عدة حملات مثل بيت الخدمة "وإلغاء 153"

Sundus Hussein is graduate of Boston University as a computer engineer and became an IT specialist and consultant throughout her 20-year career. At heart she is an activist who pushes for justice and equality. As the Free Kuwait Campaign female spokesperson in London, she realized from the egregious acts of destruction and killing in Kuwait by the Iraqi regime that she needed to work for the plight of the less fortunate. Sundus became involved with many organizations like the Kuwait Human rights association and the Kuwait Graduate society and in 2003 co founded a street movement “Rise Up Women” to grant Kuwaiti women parliamentary political rights. Currently Sundus is working with abused women and domestic help through various campaigns like Bayt Al Khidma and Abolish153.

Noaf Hussein is a public relations and communications specialist. She is the founder of Pretty Little Things which aims to create buzz for regional and international brands in fashion, food, lifestyle, and luxury. Noaf is also the co-founder of Qout Market, a seasonal artisanal food, farm and craft market in Kuwait.

د. خلود النجار خريجة جامعة تونت بهولندا، وهي حاليا رئيس قسم تكنولوجيا التعليم في كلية التربية الأساسية، وهي كاتبة وصانعة أفلام شغوفة بعملها، كما تشغل منصب نائب مدير مهجان الكويت السينمائي الأول، وهي تركز في قصص أفلامها، ومحاضراتها، وأعمالها التطوعية على تمكين المرأة وغياب العدالة الإجتماعية

 

Dr. Kholoud Alnajjar is a graduate of University of Twente in Holland, and currently is the head of department of Educational Technology in the College of Basic Education in Kuwait. She is a passionate film maker and writer, and a deputy director of the first Kuwait Film Festival. Through her stories in films, lectures, and volunteer work, she focuses on women empowerment and cultural unjustness

بيبي الحياة خريجة الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت. تعيش بيبي حاليا في الكويت، وهي المديرة الإبداعية ومؤسسة نوفمبر وشركاه بالإضافة إلى "بيبي الحياة الفعاليات والتصميم". على الجانب، تلتزم بيبي بتوفير وجمع الضروريات اليومية وتوزيعها على المحتاجين في مراكز الترحيل الإناث، وخصوصا خلال عيد الأم وشهر رمضان

Bibi Hayat is a graduate from The American University of Beirut. Bibi currently lives in Kuwait, and is the creative Director and Founder of November&Co in Addition to Bibi Hayat Events & Design. On the side, Bibi is committed to providing & collecting daily essentials and distributing them to people in need at the female Deportation Centers, especially during Mother's day and Ramadhan.

لطيفة محمد البراك من مواليد الحي القبلي بفريج الغنيم في الكويت ، والدها رجل مثقف وسياسي شارك في المجلس التشريعي عام 1937. التحقت في أول مدرسة نظامية – مدرسة الوسطي – سنة 1937 ، وكانت قبل ذلك تتلقى تعليمها عند الملاية كالمتعارف عليه في ذاك الآوان. في عام 1943 عينت مُدرِسة في مَدرسة الشرقية ، وهي تعتبر ثالث معلمة في نظام التعليم العام في الكويت.تقاعدت من سلك التربية والتعليم بعد 34 سنة من الخدمة والتفاني في العمل. والسيدة لطيفة بشغفها للنشاط وإيمانها بسلامة الذهن والجسد، دأبت على مواصلة الحياة العامة من خلال التفاعل مع المجتمع وممارسة هواياتها واتباع اسلوب ونمط حياة صحية بانتظام

 

Latifa Mohammed Al Barak was born in Qibla district in the neighborhood of Al Ghunaim family in Kuwait. Her father, an educated man and politician participated in the Legislative Council in 1937. She joined Al Sharqiya School in 1937 which was the first systematic school and before that received education at Almulaiha like the majority during that time. In 1943 she was appointed in Al-Wosta School, as the third teacher in the education system in Kuwait and retired after 34 years of service and dedication to work. After her retirement, she continued healthy life style through interaction with the community with her social activities as she believes in being healthy in mind, soul and body.

. حصلت على بكالوريوس العلوم في التصميم الغرافيكي والاتصالات من الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت. في عام 2009 حصة شاركت في تأسيس صوت الكويت، عمل مجموعي تطوعي للوعي المدني. حصة تجمع بين القيم الجوهرية للالتصميم التنظيمي والابتكار الاستراتيجي لتحقيق المناهج الاتصالات الناجحة. مع أكثر من 7 سنوات من تصميم استراتيجية وخبيرة في البرمجة الثقافية، حصة أسست، وأيضا هي الرائدة محتوى، شعبية، نقاط، منصة الإبداعية تعمل على تحديد، معالجة وحل القضايا الإبداعية بهدف جمع وتثقيف الجمهور المؤهل للعب دور فعال في تحقيق التغيير في الشرق الأوسط. باعتبارها قوة ذات قدرة تأثير على المستوى الثقافي، تتمثل مهمة نقاط في تعزيز الإبداع وإثراء المجتمع

Hussa is the design strategist and managing partner of Raw Design Studio. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and Communication from the American University of Beirut. In 2009 Hussa employed her communication and design skills to co-found Sout Al Kuwait, a volunteer-based civil awareness group. Hussa combines the intrinsic values of organizational design and strategic innovation to achieve successful communication methodologies. With over 7 years of design strategy and cultural programming experience, Hussa founded, and also is the content leader of, Nuqat, a creative platform in the Middle East aiming to educate and connect creatives in the region.

Exclusive: Dr. Zaina AlZabin's Journey حصريا: مسيرة د. زينة الزبن

 

تخرجت زينة الزبن من جامعة نيو يورك وحصلت على ماجستير من جامعة لندن. زينة عندها خبرة في مجال علم النفسي والتعليم. عملت زينة في العديد من المنظمات الغير ربحية، محلية ودولية، من ضمنهم مركز الاجتماعي للتعليم العاطفي (CSEE) في نيويورك، مركز تقويم وتعليم الطفل (CCET) في الكويت، ومركز الكويت للتوحد (KCA).  عملت زينة خمس سنوات في مركز السور كطبيب نفساني، وكخبيرة استشارات نفسية في مدرسة منارات (ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة مدرسة) الكويت قبل أن تؤسس مسار للإستشارات النفسية في يوليو 2014. زينة أيضاً مؤسسة وشريكة مدير في مركز السلوك التطبيقي (ABC) في الكويت الذي تم تأسيسه في مارس 2011.  تدربت زينة كطبيب نفساني للاطفال والاسرة وتوفرنهج متعدد التخصصات استهدافاً  للاطفال، العوائل، الأزواج والكبار. بالإضافة الى ذلك زينة نشيطة اجتماعية وتعمل على خلق بيئة التفهم والقبول لكل الامور المتعلقة بالصحة العقلية. 

 

Zaina AlZabin is a graduate of New York University (NYU), and holds a Master's Degree from University College of London (UCL). Zaina has had a variety of experiences in the field of psychology and education.She has worked in various non-profit organizations, locally and internationally, including Center for Social Emotional Education (CSEE) in New York, Center for Child Evaluation and Teaching (CCET) in Kuwait, and Kuwait Center for Autism (KCA). As a psychotherapist Zaina completed five years at Soor Center, and worked as a consultant psychologist at Minaret School (Special Needs School) Kuwait, before establishing Masar Consults in July, 2014. Zaina is also a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at the Applied Behavior Center of Kuwait (ABC) which was established in March 2011. Zaina is trained as a Child & Family Psychotherapist, and as such provides a multidisciplinary approach targeting children, families, couples and adults. Zaina is also socially active and works towards creating an environment of understanding and acceptance for all matters related to mental health.
